The Division of Nephrology’s Alumni and Friends Reception, held annually during the American Society of Nephrology’s Kidney Week conference, was a big success.
The fact that the reception was held in the Big Easy didn’t hurt.
At least 120 current and former members of the division, friends and family, attended the party at the Sheraton New Orleans on Canal Street in New Orleans on Friday, November 3, 2017.
As the guests reminisced about the old days and told new stories, they were treated to a spectacular spread of traditional New Orleans cuisine, including Cochin du lait, Andouille sausage, jalapeno jack crawfish, crepes and more.
The division’s Office Coordinator, Virginia Kelly, was there to ensure the event ran smoothly. “It was a great success!” she says. “It was packed and the guests literally shut the room down. First, they took the food away, then the drinks, and people were STILL talking. Then, they started flashing lights and people were STILL talking! It was a great vibe and energy, really great.”
We all look forward to next year’s conference and reception in San Diego, CA!
