A symposium highlighting the work of women faculty members at Washington University School of Medicine will be held September 22, 2016, in the EPNEC Seminar Room B, 1:00-3:00 pm.
“Development of women leaders at WUSM is a top priority to continue our excellence in clinical medicine, research and education,” says Victoria Fraser, MD, Adolphus Busch Professor of Medicine and Chairman of the Department of Medicine. She and Lilianna Solnica-Krezel, PhD, Alan A. and Edith L. Wolff Distinguished Professor and Department of Developmental Biology Head will co-chair a closing discussion panel with the speakers that will focus on the unique challenges women face in their careers in academic medicine.
“This is a wonderful annual symposium that highlights the research and careers of women faculty from WUSM and outside the institution,” continues Dr. Fraser. “WUSM has a strong commitment to advancing the careers of women physicians and scientists. Enhancing visibility of their work helps provide access to outstanding role models and mentors for women students and junior faculty.”
