Nurses Melissa Vath and Fabrienne Harper Join Nephrology Team

The Division of Nephrology welcomes Melissa Vath, BSN, RN, and Fabrienne (Fae) Harper, BSN, RN, to the Renal Outpatient Office, located in the Center for Advanced Medicine.

Ms. Vath joins us as a Clinical Nurse Coordinator. Melissa’s nursing career began in 2013 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in the Gynecologic Oncology unit. A year later, she became an in-center hemodialysis nurse and then a peritoneal dialysis nurse at DaVita Dialysis before coming to our division. Melissa received her BSN from Chamberlain College.

As for Melissa’s downtime, “I spend every minute of free time I have with my family,” she says. “With a one-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son, life is super busy. We love spending time outside … and swimming!”

Ms. Harper has been working with hemodialysis patients for the past 18 years. Fabrienne worked at Gambro/RAI before coming to the Chromalloy American Kidney Center in 2006, where she remained until joining the Renal Outpatient Office as a Clinical Nurse Coordinator. Fabrienne obtained her nursing degree from St. Louis Community College in 2014, after which she went on to get her BSN from Western Governors University.

Fabrienne has two children, 19 and 21, both of whom are in college. She is a self-proclaimed “home body” and a big family person. “I love hosting family and friends to barbeques, cookouts and gatherings.” A good DYI project is her favorite hobby; she likes painting, building things, and woodworking.

Barb Schmaltz, BSN, RN, Nurse Manager for the Renal Outpatient Office, says, “We are all so excited that Melissa and Fae have joined the team.”

Welcome!
