Free Kidney & Health Screenings at the Laborers’ Local 42 – International Institute Community Health Fair

The National Kidney Foundation’s (NKF) KEEP Healthy program will provide free kidney check-ups March 3, at the 2017 Laborers’ Local 42 – International Institute Community Health Fair. KEEP Healthy is a community-based initiative to raise awareness of how to reduce the risk of kidney disease.

The free event is open to the public and is an initiative of EMILICC, the Eastern Missouri Diversity, Outreach & Community Engagement Coordinating Committee. This is a collaborative effort of health care providers, exhibitors and volunteers. The event will be held in the gymnasium at the International Institute of St. Louis, 3401 Arsenal Street, St. Louis, MO, 63118, from 9 AM to 1 PM.

The kidney check-up includes:

• Risk Survey
• Body Mass Index (BMI): Height and Weight Measurements
• ACR urine test for albumin for individuals at risk
• Free educational materials
• Opportunity to speak with a health care professional

There will also be free blood pressure checks, screenings for blood glucose, HIV/Hepatitis C and physician consultations, and referrals for the noninsured & underinsured for free or reduced medical care and medicine. There will be a free raffle for $50 food gift certificates and giveaways
Exhibitors will provide information and services that include immigration legal services, education, health, nutrition, employment, and more.
