Humphreys, MD, PhD, Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital has accepted the position of Chief of the Renal Diseases Division in the Department of Medicine here at Washington University School of Medicine. I am also thankful to all who assisted in this process by meeting with Dr. Humphreys, as well as meeting with the other candidates during their visits with us.

I would particularly like to thank Dr. Marc Hammerman for his leadership of the Renal Division. He has directed the Renal Division for the past two decades and built the Renal Division into one of the most premier programs in the country. I am very grateful to Marc, and to Ms. Jodean Baldauf, the Renal Division’s business manager, for their careful stewardship and management of the Renal Division. The Division is made up of outstanding faculty who are exceptional scientists, clinicians and educators. The Renal staff are also hardworking and dedicated individuals who ensure the success of the faculty and the Division and provide wonderful care to patients.
